It’s Been a Minute

Hard to believe it’s been over two years since my last post. I can confess to how easy it is to neglect a blog when it really isn’t part of your daily, weekly, or even monthly routine. While I’ve always had great intentions for this documentation of my life, I’ve clearly never gotten into a consistent cadence for updating things. So I’m going to try and change that…again.

This time however, I have a LOT of content already written. You see, about a year ago I decided to take action on a project I’ve always wanted to do. I started writing a manuscript with hopes of publishing a book someday. I started this project fully planning to write a business book focused on what I’ve learned from my career. Having spent nearly 25 years working with non-profits, small businesses, and innovators, and the last 10 years working closely with enterprise-level partners to refine their web strategies, I have a lot to share.

As I started down this path of documenting the wonderful things I’ve learned, my writing started to morph into something completely different. I started to realize the real knowledge I had to share was only tangential to my work experiences. I realized something I struggle with every day to wrangle, had actually been a key tool in success throughout my life and career. It was overthinking. Sure we use overthinking in the negative a lot these days, and I struggle with the anxiety which often accompanies it. This project however, also helped me understand the mental process which lead to the anxiety, have also helped me to problem solve for my partners and throughout my life.

Now I’m going to start to share this content (not all of it, no one wants to read 50,000 words in a blog format) and explore ways to refine my manuscript while I navigate the publishing process. I’ve decided to create a new landing page for it all, and I’m calling it Exhaustive Mind. Click over there if you want to learn more!
