I Made it to 30! And Mexico Here I Come!

Well Friday was the day I left the 20s and entered the next decade of my life. It was a pretty good day, nothing exciting but a relaxing day working from home and then my wife and I joined some friends for dinner before heading to the bedlam baseball game. The game was not very good as the Pokes destroyed the Sooners. The entertainment in the stands was hilarious as always though so the tickets were definitely worth it. Saturday my wife planned a barbeque party at our home for me and our friends. We had about 25 people and we all had a good time. I got some interesting gifts. My wife went all out and got me an iPhone which is really the only thing I wanted so she is the coolest wife in the world! She even went with the high end one so bonus points for that one! I got a lot of beer…24 from Waylon (way to leave one six pack at home for yourself and destroy the symbolism!). He and his wife along with another couple got me a bottle of Old Crow whiskey (not sure what they were saying with that one) and an autographed picture of themselves. I also got some cash from the parents and in-laws. I really like getting cash but I am at a point in life where I don’t need money from my retired parents and in-laws. They have the fixed incomes, they need it more than I do. So note to parents everywhere…when your kids start making more money than you do, you can stop giving them cash for special occasions. I also want to think Rilo for the “Fantasy Football League Champion” t-shirt, very nice and a great way for me to talk trash without saying a word the next time we all gather for some poker!

So now we are off to Mexico. Tomorrow at the butt-crack of dawn my wife and I along with three other couples will be heading to Tulum for some pre-paid food and drink on the beach. I will not be blogging from the beach as it seems quite rude to all of you that are not on the beach. I will post some updates when I return.
