Well it has been a crazy past few weeks as the newest addition to the Moore family decided that she couldn’t decide when she wanted to come on out and meet the rest of us! Finally last night she was born and both mom and Amelia are doing well. This was my first real family birth experience, which I know sounds crazy but since my brother was living in Kansas when they had their first one and my brother-in-law lives in Texas we were not on the scene for the birth of our other nieces and nephew. That said, I now have a great understanding of the insanity that surrounds such an event! Last night we had 2 sets of grandparents, 2 sets of uncles and aunts and a sibling just standing the hallway of the nursery for 3 hours…basically just watching a new born sleep. While I understand the need for family support and it was great to see the little one I have not really figured out why we were all just hanging out for so long. Seems nuts to me!
Anyway beyond that experience I have also been watching my brother’s other daughter through all the false alarms so I now have no idea how any parent with a job that is not flexible can possibly take care of a kid! Luckily I have the definition of flexible job so I was able to take the little one to school at 8:40am and pick her up at 3:20pm. How are you supposed to do that if you have to be at work from 8am to 5pm? I don’t know how they do it!
Well I am off to see little A.J.!
