Last night my wife and I took the opportunity to have a good old-fashioned date…amazing how rare nights like that are when you are married. (especially when you have been married for nearly 10 years).  We met some friends for dinner at a new restaurant and the food was pretty good.  Sorry Brady Tavern…you don’t get an exceptional rating, mainly because the air conditioning was out and it was VERY WARM!

From here we headed to the Kings of Leon concert.  I have never been a huge concert fan but I have been a Kings of Leon fan for a few years so why not take the opportunity to hear a band you like live? It was 100% worth it.  If not for the music for the fact that my wife and I were able to remove ourselves from the stresses and emotions of daily life for a night and just enjoy being around one another.  We saw some friends, we saw some interesting fashion and a strange mix of people all contributing to, if nothing else, just a good night.

If you are a fan of Kings of Leon, make it a point to see them live…they will not disappoint.  Great mix of old and new songs, they sounded great and the crowd was into it all night.  Even the moron in front of us trying to make a live recording of the show.  Is it really worth it to have to stand there with you hand in the air holding that mic to try to get a crappy recording of songs you probably already have studio versions of?  I don’t get it.

So all that said to say this…take the time to enjoy your spouse and leave work and life behind, even if it is just for one night.  It is great to remember all of the things you love about someone without all the crap you have to deal with on a normal day.
